2 years agoJimmie Johnson is back behind the wheel of a NASCAR Cup Series car this weekend, as he will be driving the #84 Chevrolet for Legacy Motor Club in the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas on Sunday. Whether or not he will get a good finish is up in the air, though, as Johnson hasn't been able to find speed this weekend. In practice on Friday, Jimmie ranked 36th-fastest out of 39 cars, and in qualifying on Saturday, he ended up 31st on the speed chart. It hasn't been a great start to the year for Legacy Motor Club as a whole, either, as their two full-time drivers (Erik Jones and Noah Gragson) have combined for just one top 10 finish over the first five events of the year. When asked about the lack of results to start out 2023, Johnson stated, "We're not where we want to be, but there's endless work going on in the shop. We're digging along. We haven't hit our peak for the season yet..." --Jordan McAbee
