Jets Trade Up To Third Overall In Draft
7 years agoThe New York Jets moved up three spots in this year's draft to third overall after trading with the Indianapolis Colts. The Jets sent the sixth pick and two second-round picks in this year's draft -- 37th and 49th overall -- as well as their 2019 second-rounder to the Colts. It's obvious that even after re-signing quarterback Josh McCown and adding Teddy Bridgewater, the Jets are in the market for a franchise quarterback in this year's draft. This comes after they lost out on Kirk Cousins in free agency. ESPN New York's Rich Cimini thinks Sam Darnold, Josh Allen and Josh Rosen are the team's top three preferences at the position, in no particular order. It's now possible that quarterbacks are taken with the top three picks, as the Browns and Giants could also select signal callers. McCown or Bridgewater could wind up making the majority of starts under center for Gang Green this year, but whoever the Jets select at third overall will be in competition for the job right away.
