Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams was the subject to trade rumors up until the deadline passed. The Raiders decided to hold onto the superstar wideout despite receiving offers from around the league. In fact, the New York Jets made a trade offer for Adams, but the Raiders reportedly declined it. After declining the trade, the Raiders decided to make mass changes to their organization. One of them including naming Aidan O'Connell at quarterback. The 25-year-old appears to be the Raiders starter going forward, which doesn't give Adams a great outlook in terms of fantasy value. Fantasy managers should continue to start Adams and hope for the best.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

The New York Jets are releasing wide receiver Davante Adams on Tuesday, a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter. Just several days ago, the Jets announced they were open to trading Adams, but everyone knew the most likely outcome was that they'd cut the 32-year-old wideout after deciding that they were moving on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The three-time All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowler caught 67 of 114 targets for 854 yards and seven touchdowns from Rodgers in his 11 starts with the Jets, ultimately recording his fifth straight 1,000-yard campaign in 2024 -- he had 209 receiving yards in three games with Vegas before being traded. Adams' best bet for continued high-end fantasy production could be to follow Rodgers wherever he goes, but the future Hall of Fame QB may not be guaranteed a starting gig anywhere. By cutting Adams, the Jets will incur a $38.2 million salary cap hit in 2025.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The New York Jets are taking calls on star wide receiver Davante Adams and are open to trading him before the start of the new league year on March 12, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Given Adams' $38.2 million salary cap number for the 2025 season, it comes as no surprise. If the Jets can't find any takers for Adams, they are expected to release him. If the 32-year-old veteran becomes a free agent, he could follow quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is expected to be cut by the Jets soon, for the third time in their careers. The Jets acquired Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders last October and the three-time All-Pro caught 67 of 114 targets for 854 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 starts. Although the Jets were a big disappointment and missed the playoffs, Adams had his fifth straight 1,000-yard season. His 2025 fantasy value will depend on where he ends up.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt writes that New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams is unlikely to want to return in 2025 with the team parting ways with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and Adams' contract is structured in a way that would give him the power to ultimately force his release. Adams has a $38.25 million salary cap hit in 2025, although none of his $35.6 million salary is guaranteed. The expectation is that New York will cut or trade Adams and save $29.8 million in cap space while taking on $8.3 million in dead money. It's unclear where the 32-year-old veteran will end up, but it's possible he'll follow Rodgers to another team if Rodgers doesn't retire. Although the Jets couldn't turn things around after trading for Adams, he ended up finishing with his fifth straight 1,000-yard season despite playing in only 14 regular-season games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the New York Jets could move on from wide receiver Davante Adams. Rapoport noted that with the Jets and Aaron Rodgers expected to part ways, the team is unlikely to keep his longtime receiver on the roster as well. The Jets traded for Adams prior to their Week 8 tilt against the Pittsburgh Steelers. During his time with the Jets, Adams averaged a strong 77.6 yards per game with seven touchdowns. He saw 10.4 targets per game and brought in 6.1 passes per game. Despite the Jets falling short of expectations, Adams posted his fifth-straight 1,000-yard campaign. Even though Adams will be entering his age-32 campaign, he should still be viewed as a solid WR2 heading into the 2025 campaign, even if he is playing for a new team.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
