The New York Jets declined the fifth-year option of offensive tackle Mekhi Becton by the deadline on Tuesday, according to sources. This move doesn't come as a surprise to anyone after the former 11th overall pick in 2020 missed all of last season after injuring his kneecap in training camp. The 24-year-old apparently is in better shape this offseason, but he'll really have to impress in 2023 if the Jets are going to consider re-signing him in free agency next offseason. Because of injuries, Becton has played in only one game since his rookie season in 2020. If he's able to stay healthy this year, Becton is expected to play right tackle for Gang Green.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
