Jesus Sanchez Starting On The Bench Against Rays
1 year agoMiami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez will retreat to the bench on Tuesday with the team facing the visiting Tampa Bay Rays. Jorge Soler is starting in right field and batting in the two-hole, while Josh Bell will serve as the designated hitter and bat third against rays right-hander Aaron Civale. Sanchez could use a day off, as he's gone 2-for-17 (.118) with no homers, a double, a triple, three RBI and a run scored in his last eight games (six starts) since Aug. 19. Overall, the 25-year-old Dominican outfielder has had a decent fourth year in Miami, batting .262 (72-for-275) with 10 home runs, 20 doubles, two triples, 42 RBI, three stolen bases and 32 runs scored in 96 games. Sanchez is currently five homers away from setting a new career-high in that statistic.
