Jesus Sanchez Out Against A Lefty
5 months agoMiami Marlins outfielders Jesus Sanchez and Nick Gordon are both sitting out on Sunday against the Philadelphia Phillies with a left-hander on the mound. It's the second time in the series in Philly where both Sanchez and Gordon have been benched with a southpaw on the mound. Dane Myers is starting in right field and is batting sixth, while Bryan De La Cruz is in left field and is hitting third versus Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez. Neither Myers nor De La Cruz will be particularly attractive in DFS lineups in the tough matchup on the road. Sanchez has not been able to figure out left-handers this year, going just 4-for-41 (.098) with one of his seven home runs and 11 strikeouts against them. It has limited the 26-year-old's fantasy appeal in mixed leagues in 2024. Overall, he's hitting .236 (54-for-229) with seven homers, 29 RBI and six stolen bases.
