Jesus Luzardo Shines In Victory
3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo was dominant in Sunday's victory versus the Cincinnati Reds. The young lefty earned a quality start with six innings of one-hit ball. He also gave up zero runs, walked one and struck out eight on the afternoon. Luzardo came over from the Oakland Athletics for outfielder Starling Marte earlier in the season. The lefty was one of the more highly touted prospects in the game entering the season, but he has struggled with both clubs this season and is 5-7 with a 7.19 ERA on the year. Luzardo may not be much of an asset this season, but he showed glimpses of what he could on Sunday and he is still worth a look in dynasty leagues. Next up for the lefty will be a matchup versus the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.
