Jesus Luzardo Looking To Bounce Back Tuesday
1 year agoMiami Marlins pitcher Jesus Luzardo is in search of a bounce-back effort as he toes the rubber against the Kansas City Royals Tuesday night in Miami. It has certainly been an uneven season for the left-hander, especially of late. Luzardo has twice allowed at least five earned runs in two of his last three starts -- including his last time out -- but has also surrendered just one earned run in three of his last five. He continues to rack up plenty of strikeouts with a 27.6% K% on the campaign but has also failed to eclipse 5 1/3 innings pitched in each of his last three starts. The 25-year-old owns a solid 4.05 ERA on the season but his 3.68 SIERA and 20.5% K-BB% are wildly encouraging. He has a nice opportunity on deck against a Royals club that ranks 19th with a .319 wOBA against left-handed pitching this season.
