Jesus Luzardo Allows Five Runs But Gets A Win
3 years agoMiami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo wasn't particularly good in Friday's start against the Chicago Cubs, but he didn't need to be, as the Marlins offense put up 14 runs. Luzardo earned a win despite allowing five runs on six hits and four walks in five innings of work. He struck out six but gave up two home runs. Luzardo has shown some flashes of brilliance and seems to have an elite curveball already. If his other pitches can catch up to his curve, he has ace upside. For now, he's 4-5 with a 7.52 ERA. Far from an ace.
