4 years agoMiami Marlins first baseman Jesus Aguilar has been out of the lineup lately due to back stiffness. He will not travel with the team for the make-up game on Monday against the New York Mets. Even though Marlins manager Don Mattingly said Aguilar could be available as a pinch hitter for Sunday's game, it seems they'd rather not risk having him deal with the quick travel and turn around time for what is essentially a one-game series. The fact that he has not been placed on the injured list, however, shows that the injury likely is not overly serious. Garrett Cooper and rookie Lewin Diaz have been starting at first base in Aguilar's place.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
