Jesse Scholtens Notches First Save
1 year agoChicago White Sox Jesse Scholtens struck out one over a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Seattle Mariners. He entered the game in the 10th inning to protect a one-run lead. The 29-year-old tossed a perfect frame to notch his first save of the year. He was recently recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday to give the White Sox an additional arm to the bullpen. With Joe Kelly and Kendall Graveman unavailable Saturday due to pitching back-to-back games, Chicago turned to Scholtens. Graveman is the favorite to close for the White Sox with Liam Hendriks (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list, and fantasy managers searching for saves should look to add him despite Scholtens securing the save Saturday.
