Jesse Chavez Locks Down Save Friday
6 years agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Jesse Chavez got a two-inning save on Friday. Chavez came into the game in the eighth with the Rangers leading 4-1. He pitched two scoreless innings, striking out one, as the offense added four more runs to win the game 8-1. Chavez's role in the bullpen is generally as the long reliever, but with the Rangers winning a few games in a row, they turned to Chavez in the eighth. We do not expect Chavez to pick up any more more saves this season, meaning he does not have any fantasy value in standard leagues. Keone Kela remains Texas' closer unless he's traded this summer.
