Jerick McKinnon To Have Large Role In Niners Offense
7 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers placed a large priority on running back Jerick McKinnon in free agency, which is why they signed him to a four-year, $30 million deal ($11.7 million in guarantees). Head coach Kyle Shanahan sees McKinnon filling the Devonta Freeman role from his time in Atlanta. McKinnon averaged 4.0 yards per attempt on the ground in his four NFL seasons with the Vikings. With McKinnon being the clear starter, Matt Breida will fill the complementary role in the backfield. In an offense on the rise, McKinnon will be a popular fantasy target in 2018 and he has RB1 upside.
