Jerick McKinnon Not A Strong Week 17 Starting Option
4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Jerick McKinnon was the team's primary pass-catching running back in Week 16 against the Arizona Cardinals. He reeled in three of his four targets for 28 yards in the game. He may see a little more action this week as the 49ers face the Seattle Seahawks, who have the league's worst pass defense, allowing 287.9 passing yards per game. Jeff Wilson Jr., who had 22 carries in Week 16, will be the team's primary ball carrier, but McKinnon could see somewhere around five or six targets in the passing game, if not more. The team will be without Brandon Aiyuk (ankle) in the game, so quarterback C.J. Beathard will be desperate for viable passing options. McKinnon is a potential desperation play as an RB3, RB4 or flex in deep PPR leagues, but he's extremely risky.
