Jeremy Jeffress To Open Season On Injured List
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers reliever Jeremy Jeffress (shoulder) will start 2019 on the injured list, according to manager Craig Counsell. Jeffress is currently dealing with shoulder fatigue, though the absence doesn't seem to be lengthy. Jeffress has already thrown a bullpen session but won't have enough time to rebuild strength by opening day. With Corey Knebel potentially being out for the season, Jeffress looks to have some opportunities for saves once healthy. Those chances may dwindle if Josh Hader runs away with the job, or if the Brewers sign Craig Kimbrel, but for now Jeffress is worth a stash for the upside. Jeffress posted a 1.29 ERA with a 0.99 WHIP last season for the Brewers.
