Jeremy Jeffress Keeps Pitching Well
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers reliever Jeremy Jeffress threw another scoreless inning and struck out two during Wednesday's loss to the Cardinals. Jeffress was presumed to be Milwaukee's closer coming into the year before he ended up on the injured list. Josh Hader took over and seemed to be unstoppable until late, giving up runs in three straight outings and collecting two losses. While the Brewers are taking things slow with Jeffress, he has thrown 3 2/3 scoreless innings with only three combined base runners and four strikeouts. If Jeffress is to continue pitching well, he could be put into higher-leverage situations soon and take back the closer role. Jeffress is a must-add in all formats, especially rotisserie and category leagues, as he is a help to ratios even when he isn't getting saves.
