Jeremy Jeffress Doesn't Record An Out
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers reliever Jeremy Jeffress came into the eighth inning with a three run lead and allowed two hits, a walk and a run before being pulled for Josh Hader without recording an out. This was the first time that Jeffress had given up a run this season and it was a bad time for him to do so for his fantasy value as Hader recorded a perfect two inning save. Jeffress has also lost a lot of velocity on his fastball since returning from the shoulder injury. Jeffress averaged 95.3 mph on his fastball in 2018 and so far this year is averaging 91.7. That is a pretty significant difference and explains why the Brewers are being so careful with him. Hopefully Jeffress can regain his lost velocity and start being worked into save chances, but for now, the job seems to belong to Hader.
