Jeffrey Springs Likely Heading To IL
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Jeffrey Springs (knee) looks to be heading to the 10-day injured list after exiting Saturday's game early, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Springs was diagnosed with a right knee sprain, as manager Kevin Cash said it was "highly likely" that he will be heading to the injured list, although the team is hopeful that it will not be a serious injury. He's been a good option in SV/HLD formats this year, posting two saves and nine holds while going 5-1 with a 3.45 ERA, 1.060 WHIP and 35.2 percent strikeout rate over 44 1/3 innings of work. Managers who have him rostered should stash him on the IL for now, but with how close it's getting to the end of the season we may not see him back in time to make an impact in fantasy.
