Jeffrey Springs Cleared To Start On Saturday Against White Sox
Jeffrey Springs (hamstring) has been cleared to make his next start on Saturday in Sacramento against the visiting Chicago White Sox. Springs' last start on Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers was cut short in the third inning when he dealt with tightness in his right hamstring. The injury turned out to be nothing serious for the 32-year-old veteran southpaw, though, so he won't need to miss a turn through the A's rotation. It hasn't been the best start for Springs in his first year with the A's, as he's gone 3-2 with a 5.64 ERA (5.17 FIP) and 1.66 WHIP with 23 strikeouts and 14 walks over his first five starts covering 22 1/3 frames. Since going six shutout innings with a season-high nine K's in his first start in 2025 against Seattle, Springs has allowed at least three earned runs in each of his last four starts. It hasn't been pretty, but he'll be worth a look as a streamer in fantasy on Saturday against Chicago.
