Jeff Wilson Jr. A Potential Deep League Play In Week 3
4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. had just two carries for three yards in Week 2. However, in Week 3, he should see his role increased heavily with Raheem Mostert (knee) doubtful and Tevin Coleman (knee) out for the game. Jerick McKinnon will be the team's starting running back in the game, but the team is likely to split carries and have a run-heavy gameplan. Starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) is also injured and questionable for the game. Wilson scored four touchdowns over just 27 rushing attempts last year, so he has clear red zone potential. Expect Wilson to see at least 10 touches in Week 3, with a good chance to score a touchdown as the team's primary red zone rushing threat. He's a bit risky, but if you're in a pinch in deep leagues, you can do worse than starting him as a flex or RB3.
