Jeff Wilson Jr. A Low-End Flex Option
4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. heavily cut into the workload of the team's No. 1 back, Raheem Mostert, in Week 13. Wilson earned seven carries as well as five targets in the passing game, while Mostert had nine carries and just one target. This week, the 49ers face the Washington Football Team, and it's hard to know what to expect in regards to the workload share. Head coach Kyle Shanahan is likely going to go with the hot-hand approach. The good news is that both running backs should have opportunities out of the gate. The bad news is that it's hard to know how effective each will be with those opportunities. Wilson is a low-end flex option if you're in a bind, but he's a bit risky and could be relegated to around five touches if Mostert excels.
