Jeff McNeil Suffers Apparent Hamstring Injury
5 years agoThe New York Mets' disappointing Tuesday night in Atlanta took a turn for the worse right at the end as one of their most valuable players appeared to suffer an injury. Utility man Jeff McNeil, who currently stands second in the National League in batting average, came up limping in the ninth as he tried to run out a ground ball to first. He was in visible discomfort before manager Mickey Callaway came out to assist him off the field. After the game, which the Mets dropped, Callaway said the 27-year-old would undergo tests to determine the severity of the injury.
