Jeff McNeil Remains On Fire At The Plate
4 years agoNew York Mets third baseman/outfielder Jeff McNeil remained red hot at the plate on Friday going 3-for-5 with two RBI, a run scored, and a double in the Mets' 18-1 win over the Blue Jays. After a somewhat mediocre start to the season, McNeil has been tearing the cover off the ball in September. In his last 11 games beginning on August 31, McNeil is 20-for-43 (.465), with four homers, seven doubles and 13 RBI. Managers who remained patient with McNeil through a disappointing August are now being rewarded. If he remains hot, there's no question he will be a difference maker in all formats as we head down the stretch. The Mets will most certainly keep McNeil in the lineup as they try to overcome a slow start to the season to secure a playoff spot in the National League.
