Jeff McNeil Picks Up Four Hits From Leadoff Spot
6 years agoThe New York Mets offense was ignited by the leadoff hitter Jeff McNeil Tuesday night in a game they won in extras. Starting at second base with Robinson Cano out as he continues to deal with a hand injury, the 27-year-old recorded four hits. In the third, his bunt single resulted in an RBI. McNeil later played a major role in the club's walkoff 10th inning as he recorded a hit right before Peter Alonso's sacrifice fly. For the season, he's now batting .370 with one home run and 12 RBI.
