Jeff Hafley Expected To Become Packers Defensive Coordinator
10 months agoBoston College head coach Jeff Hafley is expected to become the new defensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers, according to sources. Hafley went 22-26 in his four seasons and brought Boston College to Bowl eligibility in three of his four years at the helm. He has resisted NFL coaching opportunities in the past, but his reasons for taking his job are rooted in both the overall state of college football and the opportunity to work for one of the NFL's most respected franchises. Hafley is also a long-time fried of Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and a long-time admirer of the Packers franchise. He will replace Joe Barry and be the third different defensive coordinator as LaFleur enters his sixth year as the team's head coach. Hafley was the Browns' defensive backs coach in 2014-15 and the 49ers' DBs coach from 2016-18.
