Jeferson Quero Assigned To Minor-League Camp
37 seconds agoMilwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero (shoulder) was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Monday. Quero missed the majority of the 2024 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Before the injury, he appeared in just one minor-league contest last summer. Manager Pat Murphy noted that Quero will likely serve as the team's DH during the start of the Triple-A season as he continues to increase his workload defensively. He was unable to appear in any spring training contests with the major-league roster. In 2023, Quero spent his entire 2023 at the Double-A level and posted a strong .262/.339/.440 slash line with 12 doubles and 16 long balls. The 22-year-old is considered the team's top prospect on MLB Pipeline and one of the top catching prospects in the sport. He could push for a late-season MLB debut if he performs well at Triple-A during the first half of the season.
