Jean Segura Hits Walk-Off Home Run For Phillies
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies shortstop Jean Segura capped a thrilling ninth inning with a three-run home run to give the Phillies a 6-3 victory over the Mets on Thursday. The Phillies entered the ninth with a 1-0 lead, but back-to-back blown saves by Hector Neris and Edwin Diaz prompted a combined eight runs for the clubs in the ninth. Segura is now slashing .274/.319/.459 with 10 home runs, 38 RBI and 47 runs across 70 games this season. The influx of power-hitting shortstops has lessened Segura's value a decent amount this year, but he should still be a reliable contributor in batting average and runs scored at the top of the strong Phillies lineup the rest of the year.
