Jean Segura Exits Sunday’s Contest Early
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies second/third baseman Jean Segura left Sunday’s game against the Mets after awkwardly hitting the first-base bag in an attempt for a hit. Neil Walker took over in his place and would figure to see playing time at the keystone should any ailment keep Segura out of the mix. Following a triple in the first, Segura has hit safely in seven straight games, with four extra-base hits in that span. Despite just a .222 average, Segura’s Hard Hit % (48.8) and average exit velocity (91.1 MPH) rank above average throughout the Majors. His next chance to return to the lineup comes Tuesday against Boston, who sends right-hander Zack Godley to the hill.
