New York Islanders center Jean-Gabriel Pageau is listed as day to day after suffering a lower-body injury during the first period of a 5-4 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday. The veteran didn't take part in practice on Friday and is questionable for Game 1 of the postseason against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday in Raleigh. Kyle MacLean was elevated to the third line while veteran Cal Clutterbuck skated as the team's fourth-line center on Friday. For the season, Pageau recorded 11 goals and 33 points while skating in all 82 of the team's regular-season contests.

He's also averaging close to one block per game and has delivered 66 hits while firing off 46 shots.

New York Islanders centerman Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored twice, beating Edmonton 3-0 on the eve of Thanksgiving. Pageau now has five goals and eight helpers in 21 Islanders contests. He is a precious player for the Islanders, but he is better known as a defensive forward. Fantasy-wise, the Ottawa, Ontario native is not a player to rush and trade for, but he is a player to keep an eye on as the season progresses.

New York Islanders center Jean-Gabriel Pageau had a huge game on Sunday against New Jersey with a natural hat trick and an assist in a 4-3 win. He put the team up 3-0 before the Devils attempted a comeback. Kyle Palmieri also had a very productive outing with a goal and two assists, as did Adam Pelech with three assists. Pageau had notched just three points in his previous 10 games. He reached 13 goals for the year and has picked up 33 points in 66 outings with 108 shots and 142 hits. The Islanders have looked very strong since the start of last month, and Pageau should benefit even more from it over the last few weeks of the season.
