Jazz Chisholm Jr. Injured On Monday
4 months agoNew York Yankees third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. (arm, shoulder) was replaced by Ben Rice as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning of Monday's series opener against the hosting Chicago White Sox. Television replays showed Chisholm moving his left arm/shoulder in the dugout after scoring a run in the fifth inning. Before being pulled, Chisholm went 2-for-3 with a run scored and his 27th stolen base of the year. The severity of the 26-year-old's injury is unclear, so fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day before checking back on his status on Tuesday. In 14 games in New York since being acquired by the Miami Marlins at the trade deadline, Chisholm has gone 18-for-57 with seven home runs, 11 RBI, five steals and 13 runs scored and has seen his fantasy stock rise considerably in a much more potent lineup. An extended absence for Chisholm would allow DJ LeMahieu to move back to third on a full-time basis. UPDATE: Chisholm left with a left-elbow injury after his slide into home plate. Manager Aaron Boone said X-rays on Chisholm's left elbow came back negative and that he's in good spirits.
