Jayvien Sandridge Signs Minor-League Deal With Yankees
4 weeks agoAccording to the team, left-handed pitcher Jayvien Sandridge has signed a minor-league contract with the New York Yankees. Sandridge will also be invited to spring training. The 25-year-old has yet to reach the major leagues. Last summer, Sandridge made his Triple-A debut with the El Paso Chihuahuas. Across 39 2/3 innings of relief, the southpaw held a 4.76 ERA with a 1.82 WHIP. He struck out an impressive 56 batters but served up 35 free passes. Earlier in the summer, Sandridge posted a 3.38 ERA with a 1.55 WHIP across 21 1/3 innings at Double-A. Fantasy managers should monitor his progress during spring training, but given his struggles at Triple-A last summer, he will likely open the campaign with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. If he can turn the corner, he could find a path to being a low-leverage option for the Yankees.
