6 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Jay Bruce had a nice return to the lineup on Friday against the Washington Nationals. Bruce went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the Mets' 3-0 win. The veteran outfielder had been on the shelf since June 17 and gave New York a glimpse of what they could have missed. It remains to be seen whether Bruce will have an impact down the stretch, or if he will simply be the same player that hit just .216 with three home runs before hitting the disabled list.--Adam
