Jay Bruce Activated off DL, Starting Friday
6 years agoNew York Mets first baseman/outfielder Jay Bruce (hip) has been activated off the 10-day disabled list on Friday. Bruce has been on the DL since mid-June due to a right hip strain. It appears Bruce is going to see plenty of time at first base down the stretch of the season, according to manager Mickey Callaway. Bruce will bat fifth and play right field versus lefty Gio Gonzalez. Bruce is a cheap DFS option on most sites, but he does not hit lefty pitchers too well. Most DFS players should avoid Bruce unless you want to run the risk because he's cheap and has plenty of pop in his bat.
