Javier Baez Pulled From Thursday's Game
2 years agoDetroit Tigers manager A.J. Hinch removed shortstop Javier Baez from Thursday's contest against the Toronto Blue Jays, according to Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press. Reportedly, the 30-year-old forgot how many outs there were while on the basepaths, costing the club an out. Since signing a 6-year, $140 million contract with the Tigers, things have gone awry for Baez. He hit .238 with a .671 OPS in 2022 and is slashing .122/.182/.146 with no home runs or stolen bases so far this season. The former World Series champion can still bounce back, but it's looking bleak.
