Javier Baez Keeps Up Hot September In Thursday's Game
2 years agoDetroit Tigers shortstop Javier Baez had a solid day at the plate on Thursday, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs in the 10-3 win against the Kansas City Royals. September's been the best month of the 29-year-old's season, as he's sporting a .902 OPS with five long balls. However, the first year in Detroit hasn't been kind to Baez, who has a .241/.281/.396 slash line with 16 HRs, 62 runs, 63 RBI, and nine stolen bases across 139 games. The mix of power and speed is still there but doesn't compare to his 31 homers and 18 SBs from a season ago. Baez is still startable in many leagues, especially during his hot streak.
