Javier Báez Hits 26th Home Run On Sunday
3 years agoNew York Mets shortstop/second baseman Javier Baez went 1-for-4 with a mammoth two-run home run in the Mets 9-4 win over the Washington Nationals on Sunday. It was Báez's second home run in three games. Báez now owns a .242/.286/.479 slash line with 26 home runs, 72 RBI, 13 stolen bases, and 57 runs scored in 108 games on the season. Since coming to the Mets in a deal at the July trade deadline, Báez has hit just .210/.258/.452 with four home runs and seven RBI over 62 at-bats. Although Báez will hurt ratios largely due to poor plate discipline, he should still help fantasy managers in the home run and RBI departments, especially if the Mets offense can kick it into gear in the final month of the season. Fantasy managers should keep Báez active in all but the most shallow of fantasy formats.
