4 weeks agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (hip) did not practice on Wednesday. Jennings missed the 49ers' Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs already. The 49ers are hopeful that they can get him back in Week 8 against the Dallas Cowboys. The 49ers are thin at wide receiver. Brandon Aiyuk (knee) is done for the year and Deebo Samuel Sr. (wrist/illness) is questionable for this week. Jennings has proven he can be an excellent fill-in. With Samuel out in Week 3, Jennings caught 11 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns. He projects to be the 49ers' No. 2 wide receiver moving forward. While it is still early in the week, it is never too soon to look at who may be affected by Jennings' absence. Rookie wide receivers Ricky Pearsall and Jacob Cowing would undoubtedly see more opportunities in the absence of Jennings.
