Jasson Dominguez Making Pro Debut Monday
4 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez, MLB Pipeline's No. 24 overall prospect, will make his professional debut on Monday in the Rookie-level circuit of the Florida Complex League. The switch-hitter signed for $5.1 million out of the Dominican Republic nearly two years ago. Dominguez is a five-tool player and is one of the most exciting young prospects at just 18 years old. He is scheduled to hit leadoff while playing center field on Monday. Dominguez is obviously very young and has plenty of time to develop in the Yankees minor league system, but his advanced instincts and skills, combined with his above-average tools, make him a candidate to be a 30-30 player when he reaches the big leagues.

Jasson Dominguez Launches Second Spring Home Run
2 weeks agoNew York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez went 1-for-3 with a two-run shot for his second long ball of spring training. He hit this home run off Detroit's top pitching prospect Jackson Jobe. Through 12 spring training contests, the switch-hitter has held a .229/.270/.400 line two stolen bases and a 2:10 BB:K. The top prospect is expected to be their everyday left fielder at the start of the season. He has only appeared in 26 contests in the major leagues throughout his career and has held a .437 SLG with six home runs during this stint. Last summer, Dominguez held an impressive .309/.368/.480 slash line with seven doubles and seven home runs. He swiped 15 bags and held a 16:36 BB:K. Dominguez is a high-upside outfielder to target as he could be poised for a breakout season with a full-time role in the Yankee lineup.

Jasson Dominguez Hits First Long Ball Of The Spring
3 weeks agoNew York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez cranked his first home run of the spring in Tuesday's 12-3 Grapefruit League win over the Phillies. Dominguez was 2-for-4 on the day with an RBI and a pair of runs scored. The 22-year-old has gotten off to a bit of a slow start, now 4-for-20 (.200) through seven spring games, and has yet to steal his first base, although that should not have any bearing on his fantasy draft stock for now. The Dominican could hit leadoff for the Yankees this season, which should be a boon to his run-scoring production, although on Tuesday, the left-handed hitter batted third. He's dealt with injuries the last two seasons, but if he can manage to stay healthy this year, he's a legitimate 20/20 threat and isn't that expensive with an NFBC ADP of 147.

Jasson Dominguez Could Hit Leadoff For Yankees
1 month agoMLB.com's Bryan Hoch projects outfielder Jasson Dominguez to start in left field and bat leadoff for the New York Yankees on Opening Day in 2025. The Yankees could turn to Dominguez as the table-setter this year after they used seven players in the leadoff spot in 2024 -- mostly shortstop Anthony Volpe, who had 76 starts atop the lineup. Manager Aaron Boone thinks Dominguez's skill set will play well in the leadoff role because his mix of on-base ability, power and solid baserunning. The Yankees prefer to use both outfielder Cody Bellinger and infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. in the heart of the order, with Hoch projecting Bellinger to hit third and Chisholm in the No. 5 spot. Dominguez leading off would obviously be bad news for Volpe, who projects to hit eighth in front of infielder DJ LeMahieu. As long as he stays healthy, Dominguez should be a candidate for a 20-20 season, making him a top-40 fantasy outfield target.

Cody Bellinger Likely To Play Center Field, Jasson Dominguez In Left Field
2 months agoNew York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said on WFAN 660 on Tuesday that he will likely use outfielder Cody Bellinger in center field and outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez in left field in 2025. The Yankees can move Bellinger around as needed, including to play first base, while Boone would rather keep Dominguez in one spot in what will be his first full professional season in the majors. Paul Goldschmidt will be the Yankees' starting first baseman, but on days he's used as the designated hitter, Bellinger could slide to first. In addition to being the team's primary left fielder in 2025, Dominguez, along with infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr., will be an option to hit leadoff for the Bombers. Both Bellinger and Dominguez will be No. 3 outfield targets in fantasy, with Bellinger having a safer floor given his experience, but Dominguez certainly has the higher long-term ceiling.
