Jason Vargas Tosses Quality Start on Tuesday
6 years agoNew York Mets southpaw Jason Vargas had a solid outing on Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles. Vargas threw six innings, allowing just two runs on five hits. He walked three and struck out one. Normally, this would be a so-so stat line, but for Vargas it was a clear step in the right direction after a disastrous four-month stretch. Even after the quality start, Vargas's ERA sits at an abysmal 8.10, and he should not be trusted except for in favorable matchups in the deepest of leagues. Vargas lines up to take the mound again this weekend against the Philadelphia Phillies.
