Jason Vargas Has Positive Outing Tuesday
6 years agoWhile he's yet to pitch six innings in a game this season, New York Mets starter Jason Vargas allowed just one run for the third consecutive start Tuesday night. He went 5 1/3 innings, allowing just one run on three hits. While he walked three, he struck out a season-high five. The 36-year-old is progressively pitching better, which can only boost his confidence at a time when it's severely needed. While he hasn't recorded a win across his last three starts, his ERA has dropped from 14.21 to 5.75 during the stretch.
