Jason Vargas Finishes Season Strong on Thursday
6 years agoNew York Mets southpaw Jason Vargas capped off his 2018 season throwing a gem against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday. Vargas went seven shutout innings, allowing just three hits to go along with six strikeouts in the win. In his final eight starts of the season, Vargas went 5-1 with a 2.62 ERA. It was a stunning turnaround for the lefty who began his career with the Mets pitching to an 8.60 ERA through nine starts. Keep an eye on Vargas heading into the 2019 fantasy season.
