6 years agoNew York Mets southpaw Jason Vargas stifled the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday. Vargas threw 5 1/3 innings, allowing just one run on four hits to go along with six strikeouts. The left-hander has quietly won his last three outings and surrendered two runs or less in each of those three victories. At this point, Vargas could be worth a look as a streaming option, especially in favorable matchups inside the spacious Citi Field. Vargas will take the mound again next week on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers.--Adam
