Jason Kokrak A Popular Play At Valspar
3 years agoExpect Jason Kokrak to be a popular DFS play this week at the Valspar Championship. The three-time PGA tour winner enters with great course history at Innisbrook. The 36-year-old has had three straight top 13 finishes at this event, including a runner up in 2019. Kokrak has gained strokes on approach in four straight events now and has not missed a cut since October. He has also gained strokes putting in four straight starts. If the veteran can get his game back in form off the tee he has a great chance to compete for a win this week.

Jason Kokrak Trending In The Wrong Direction
3 years agoIt has been a stretch to forget for Jason Kokrak. He has missed the cut in his past two starts, failing to qualify for the weekend at The Scottish Open last time he teed it up. He has not recorded a top-20 finish in over a month and has been struggling with his short game. Over his last 20 rounds, Kokrak has lost 0.8 strokes around the greens. A short game is such an important part of links golf, so it doesn't bode well for Kokrak that he is having a hard time sorting that part of his game out. On the positive side, he has made the cut at The Open the past two years, finishing inside the top 35 both times. He will most likely come in with very low ownership in DFS, and probably for good reason. His form isn't where it needs to be to be considered a strong DFS option.

Jason Kokrak Looking To Defend Title
3 years agoJason Kokrak enters the week of his title defense with two top-20s in his last four starts. With only two missed cuts on the season, he has been playing remarkably steady golf on most fronts. His driver continues to be his best weapon from tee-to-green. But once his sporadic approach play and mediocre around the green game land him on the Bent greens at the Charles Schwab Challenge, it's his putter that steals the show. As the 34th best putter on tour, Kokrak has all the tools to manufacture a second win at his happy hunting ground that is Colonial Country Club.

Jason Kokrak Needs Putter To Perform This Week
3 years agoJason Kokrak has gained on approach in his last eight starts at Harbour Town but has missed three of his last four cuts courtesy of a disobedient putter. As one of the better putters on tour over the last two years, Kokrak will be looking to buck his poor putting trend at this venue. If his putter obliges, he has the approach play needed to succeed around a golf course that rewards finesse over distance. However, his recent iron play has lost strokes to the field in his last two starts, which will need to change this week if he looks to contend.

Jason Kokrak Needs Ball-Striking To Improve
3 years agoJason Kokrak will need to ramp up his ball-striking this week if he wants to contend. Even with an abundance of length off the tee, Kokrak has barely been gaining strokes in that department lately. His approach play has been steady, but he has yet to have any impressive iron performances since his win at the Houston Open last fall. His putter has been doing most of the heavy lifting, which is a tough recipe to repeat on a weekly basis. The long hitter has a missed cut and a 49th-place finish in his two Augusta starts. Outside of his win, Kokrak has not finished better than T17 this season, giving little reason to believe he will contend for a green jacket this week.
