5 years agoCleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis and outfielder Leonys Martin are out of the starting lineup against Red Sox left-handed starter David Price on Tuesday. Mike Freeman is starting at second and is hitting ninth, while Oscar Mercado is in center field and batting second. Greg Allen draws into left field and will hit eighth. Mercado is the only attractive daily option on Tuesday evening. The 24-year-old rookie is hitting a nice .323/.417/.516 with a homer, nine runs, four RBI and two steals in his first 31 at-bats in the big leagues.
