Jason Foley Notches Save No. 5
1 year agoDetroit Tigers right-hander Jason Foley allowed one hit across a scoreless 1 2/3 innings to earn the save during Saturday's 6-2 win over the Boston Red Sox. Foley entered the game in the eighth inning to protect a four-run lead. The 27-year-old allowed one hit but was able to record a four-out save to secure Detroit's win. It was Foley's fifth save of the season. He owns a 2.09 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and 46 strikeouts over 51 1/3 innings in 2023. Foley was reinstated from the bereavement list and could see some additional save opportunities, with current closer Alex Lange walking nine batters over his last three games.
