Jason Foley Notches His First Career Save Tuesday
2 years agoDetroit Tigers right-hander Jason Foley earned his first career save in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cleveland Guardians. He pitched the ninth inning and preserved the 1-0 lead, striking out one without allowing a baserunner. Foley is off to a strong start on the mound, producing a 1.13 ERA with eight punchouts and three walks across eight innings of work. Alex Lange, the Tigers closer, finished game one of the twin bill, so the 27-year-old was likely unavailable for the second contest. Fantasy owners can't expect Foley to receive too many save opportunities this season, but with already three holds under his belt, he has underrated value in hold leagues.
