Jason Dufner Posts a Top-Five Finish at The Players Championship
7 years agoJason Dufner finished at 13-under par during the Players Championship, giving him a share of fifth place. Dufner produced rounds of 72, 69 and 66 before delivering a Sunday 68. His four-under par Sunday performance was impressive, but in reality it could have been even better. Dufner had a plethora of makeable birdie looks down the stretch but wasn't able to convert on any of them after hole 11. The most painful miss came on the 18th hole when Dufner missed a three-foot par putt that would have given him a tie for second place. Beggars can't be choosers, though, when it comes to Dufner's lack of execution late with his putter. It is the stick that repeatedly gives him the most trouble, and after gaining 7.455 strokes to the field putting on the week, Dufner regressed more towards his norm on Sunday. This was Dufner's first top-10 finish of the season.
