Jason Day Looking For Title No. 2 At Bay Hill
6 years agoJason Day returns to action at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, an event which he has performed well at in the past. Day won the event back in 2016, and in his last four appearances at Bay Hill, the Australian has finished no worse than T23. Day has recorded back-to-back top-five finishes heading into this week’s event. Known as one of the best putters in the game, Day has gained strokes over the field in his last five events on Tour.

Jason Day Secures Top-10 Finish At Arnold Palmer Invitational
4 weeks agoJason Day finished tied for eighth at last week's Arnold Palmer Invitational and aims to maintain his strong play for this week's The PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass. He hasn't missed the cut in any of his seven starts this year and has three top-10 finishes. Day has had mixed results at The PLAYERS Championship in previous years, finishing T35 in 2024, T19 in 2023, and missing the cut in 2022. Notably, at last year's The PLAYERS Championship, over 32% of approach shots came from 100-150 yards. In the past 12 months, Day has ranked in the 61st percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from this distance in the fairway. Given his excellent form, he could be a valuable addition to DFS lineups this week.

Jason Day Making 12th Career Start At Arnold Palmer Invitational
1 month agoComing off a disappointing T50 finish at the Genesis Invitational in February, Jason Day is making another start at Bay Hill. A winner here in 2016, there have been way more examples of good golf than bad, which he'll need to lean into to build some positive momentum before next week's Players Championship. Unfortunately, his ball striking has been slowly declining since the start of the season. The 37-year-old Aussie had gained strokes on approach in all of his first four events at an average of +1.055 and gained strokes off the tee in his last three starts at an average of +0.493 before the Genesis. However, he lost strokes in both metrics there. Bay Hill is luckily a much different animal than Torrey Pines, but the play off the tee will certainly have to come back in form if he hopes to have a chance.

Jason Day Gets Second Chance At Torrey Pines
2 months agoJason Day has gotten off to a solid start in 2025. The golfer from Australia tied for third at The American Express and broke into the top 15 at Pebble Beach. Day has only had one win since 2020, and that was two years ago at the Byron Nelson. However, this has been the healthiest Day we have seen in years, from a mental and physical standpoint. At the Farmers Insurance Open, Day did shoot a 74 and 76 to open and close his week. That was a big reason Day did not contend. Day birdied the 72nd hole on the Torrey Pines South Course but had five bogeys before then including three on the back nine. Day is a long shot here, but he does learn from his mistakes well.

Jason Day A Course Horse At Pebble Beach
2 months agoJason Day has been in decent form to start 2025, recording finishes of T40, T3, and T32 in his first three events. Through these tournaments, Day ranks 21st in strokes gained on approach (8.121), but his putting has been a letdown, losing 9.946 strokes to the field with his flat stick. This is in direct contrast to his performance in 2024, when he ranked ninth on tour in putting and 152nd on approach. Day has played Pebble Beach 15 times in his career, finishing inside the top 25 an impressive 13 times and inside the top 10 on nine occasions. Given his strong course history, this could be the week Day finds his form with his irons and putter. If he can get those two working together, he will be in contention come Sunday. At $8,900 on DraftKings, his price tag offers great value for fantasy managers.
