Jason Adam Wins Arbitration Case
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays right-hander Jason Adam won his salary arbitration case against the team on Saturday and will make $1.775 million instead of the $1.55 million that the Rays offered. Despite the deal, the Rays could work out a contract extension for the 31-year-old pitcher this spring. In his first year with the Rays last season, Adam had a career-best 1.56 ERA (2.86 FIP), 0.76 WHIP, his first eight career saves and a career-high 75 strikeouts in 63 1/3 innings pitched in 67 relief appearances. Adam will have to compete with Pete Fairbanks for saves in Tampa in 2023, but there's a good chance he'll see even more save opportunities after an excellent year in 2022, pushing his fantasy needle to the upward position.
