Jason Adam Sent Down To Triple-A
6 years agoThe Kansas City Royals optioned relief pitcher Jason Adam back to Triple-A Omaha on Friday. He was replaced on the roster by Brandon Maurer. Adam's first stint in the big leagues went pretty well, but there were a few hiccoughs along the way. Recently, he's struggled a bit as he had allowed solo home runs in each of his last two outings, but he's mostly a victim of circumstance in this demotion. Adam's making league minimum as a rookie while Maurer was signed to a $3 million deal for 2018. Now that Maurer seems to have worked out his timing with Triple-A hitters, it makes sense that the team would want to bring him back up to earn his money.
